Yamato Kyoto, Yamato Kyosho, and Yamato Josho will perform a selection of Yamatogaku and Kabuki music pieces at Japan Village’s 2026 Setsubun event. This is a rare opportunity to experience Japanese traditional kabuki theater music in New York City.

Japan Village in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, will hold an exciting event to celebrate the Setsubun festival. Yamato Kyosho and Yamato Kyoto will perform songs such as “Mamemaki” before the actual bean-throwing ritual is held.

Yamatogaku USA has been dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of Japanese music and culture in the United States. In celebration of our 25thanniversary and to further our global reach, we are honored to announce a special commemorative concert.

This ninth annual Tanabata Festival is presented by the Amateur Astronomers Association (AAA) with the Japanese American Association and support from the Japanese Consulate. This traditional Japanese summer festival is based on a legend of star-crossed lovers. Come make a wish and join us for bon odori dancing from 7:30pm.

Japan Village in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, will welcome Kanariya Eisho, to perform traditional rakugo comedy. Yamato Kyosho and Yamato Kyoto will play Yamatogaku songs with traditional percussion before his show.
